Ughhh I can relate to this soo much! I was soo exhausted in the past few weeks, even though I did the bare minimum in everything. We had big elections this past weekend and even though I really tried to minimise consuming content about it, it was pushed into my face every damn second (no matter in which window i look out from our house, i can see at least 1 poster about the campaign)
It is finally over, and now I am super productive since monday, I feel energized, and at the end of the day I am super tired - but it feels sooo good!
I’ll be honest — there have been many nights over the last few months when I couldn’t tell if I was falling asleep tired or exhausted, and I think the not knowing is the hardest part.
I think a key difference or indicator — and it’s sort of the other side of this essay — is how you feel the morning after. Excited? Dread? Readiness? Avoidance?
It’s the combo of listening to yourself as you fall asleep, and listening to yourself when you wake up — that’s how you know.

Oh, that’s a great definition of the difference between exhausted & tired: “I’m exhausted even though I did the bare minimum”.
Glad you’re on the other side of it!
