🤔 SOME THOUGHTS
"Stress is the achiever word for fear. If I follow the trail of your stress it will take me to your deepest fear."
That bit of wisdom from Tony Robbins popped into my head during a conversation with Chris Irwin recently (episode coming soon).
I've been thinking about it a lot this week.
In our daily lives, we dress fear in countless costumes - calling it anxiety when facing uncertainty, stress when under pressure, thoroughness when double-checking everything, or self-protection when avoiding risks. We label it as shyness at parties, worry when thinking about our kids' future, and cautious planning when making decisions.
But beneath all these polite masks lies the same core, raw, profoundly human emotion: fear.
By tap dancing around the truth & getting creative with labels, we resist the fear. As Chris might say, we fear the fear, which only leads to more of it.
If we want health, we must first confront our abundance of disease. If we want wealth, we must first face our abundance of poverty. If we want stronger relationships, we must first acknowledge our abundance of loneliness.
Only when we are honest with ourselves - when we become the Realist - can we overcome the underlying challenge.
We're not stressed. We're not anxious. We're not shy or sad or worried or cautious.
We're scared.
When we call it what it is, we see it. When we see it, we can face it. When we face it, we can accept it. When we accept it, we can move beyond it.
Calling fear anything but fear is like locking all the doors to your house, throwing the keys on the roof, and then trying to sit on the couch.
Calling fear what it is unlocks the door. It gets you in the house. It may not be sufficient for quelling the emotion, but it's a necessary first step - one we too often avoid simply because we don't want to admit the truth.
🙋🏽♀️ QUESTIONS

We’ve got another round of our recommendation round-up coming on Monday, & friend-of-the-show EC Synkowski stops by on Tuesday to talk to us about why our nutrition should be more boring & less perfect.
Until then, keep chasing & have a great weekend!
