Some thoughts on where we spend out time & money
Hello, hi, 👋
Happy Sunday, my friends! Here’s hoping your Sunday is completely devoid of all references to KPop Demon Hunters (#jealous).
Let’s get into it.

Calendars & Bank Accounts
You say family matters most to you. Your health is a top priority. Personal growth drives everything you do.
Great. Now show me your calendar.
This is where the conversation gets uncomfortable.
Most of us can articulate our values beautifully. We know what matters. We can speak passionately about the things that are truly important in our lives. But there’s often a massive gap between what we say matters and how we actually spend our time.
The calendar doesn’t lie. Your bank account doesn’t lie. These are the real scorecards of your priorities.
If health is crucial to you but you haven’t scheduled a single workout this week, there’s a disconnect. If family time is sacred but you’re consistently working through dinner, something’s off. If personal development matters but you can’t remember the last book you finished, the alignment isn’t there.
This isn’t about judgment - it’s about awareness.
The goal isn’t to feel guilty about the misalignment. It’s to recognize it clearly so you can do something about it. The person who claims health matters but spends zero time on it isn’t a bad person - they’re just living incongruently.
Living out of alignment with your stated values creates a specific kind of stress. It’s the exhaustion that comes from saying one thing and doing another. It’s the frustration of constantly feeling like you’re not living up to your own standards.
The solution starts with honesty.
Look at your calendar for the past month. Look at your spending. Look at how you actually use your time and energy. Then compare that to your list of what matters most.
The gaps you find aren’t failures - they’re opportunities. They’re clear directions for where to focus your attention next.
True accountability to yourself means closing those gaps, one small promise at a time.
